I liked the old system & used it frequently. Now the system is so confusing I have not sent or received a message since the new system began. Maybe it might be best to allow for both systems.

I already deleted the Facebook app in favor of my web browser for space conserving purposes. I was not a fan of needing to update my perfectly functional Messenger app for this space-hogging version because mine was "no longer supported." The automatically generated conversations prompting you to message new friends, tabs for Games and Discover, redundant tabs to access your list of friends, and pop-ups that strongly encourage you to sync your contacts (as if I dont have a built-in Messages app??) are unnecessary and clutter the formerly simple and convenient interface. I wish there were a "Messenger Lite" app without the frills.

Latest update removed icon from my Public Facebook profile. WTH

Okay. So.. I just found a good looking girl on facebook. I wanted to check, If we had a conversation on messenger. Idk from 2013 pr something. No, nothing. Perfect girl you know, same interest etc. I said to myself, Okay Emil tomorrow you will write to her, but I accindentally clicked the " invite" button. So now our conversation is just a too big messenger invite bubble. Thanks a lot.......................

Cant sign in Cant switch users Cant do anything

I used to be able to use messenger. I liked it! I tried to open the app today and it wont open for me. At all! I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it again and now it wont fully reinstall! Please help!

They took away the option to swipe left to quickly edit certain settings, like muting a conversation quickly or deleting. Which is very frustrating. It was replaced by the ability to swipe and see contacts which is considerably less useful to me. Im using the app a lot, but not being able to mute quickly and quickly access other settings that I was using daily, is making me consider the potential necessity of removing it from my phone and using it only from the computer.

This is an intrusive and confusing application to use. If you do not want to have notifications checked, it will continually prompt you to check push notifications so that youll either have a badge or a notification when your phone is locked. You get notices on Facebook for it and you cannot opt out. It shows up as an icon on Facebook and its just really an annoying and privacy stealing app that tries to take over your phone. I deleted the Facebook app as well as Messenger-you can shove it Facebook - I am sick of your intrusive products. I am sick of Facebooks privacy mining that its users have to agree to.

I love fb messenger but theres been so many problems with it lately. When I try to see when someone was last active first itll say 19h ago then 1 min later itll say 2h ago. Which one is it ? Also its moving very slow and keeps closing when Im on it. Last thing the pic in the persons little bubble thing doesnt always change when they change there picture. Needs a major update it was PERFECT before.

Totally messed up this app. Or I pad is having so many problems I dont even know where to start. Its creating so many problems between my wife & I that Im ready to through this phone away. I thought your suppose to enjoy this phone & App. Instead its made my life pure hell.

This is a good program in that it is supported by many different platforms and social media; However, having our reply show up as a new message is a little dumb. This makes things quite confusing and may cause some irritation. Perhaps a big green or blue check mark would work.

This app needs the ability to turn off the call function. Either completely or for specific people. Seriously.

I dont have space on my phone for an app that serves no purpose. If my Facebook friends want to say something they can just post to my wall. If they want it to be private they shouldnt be doing it through Facebook in the first place, thats what email/text/phones are for. There is no way to disable messages so even if I dont download the app people can still send me messages not knowing that I will never see them.

I love messenger and use it almost exclusively to talk to many of my friends and family. The only thing I cant stand about it is the "ding" it makes. I actually have to turn my sound off if my dog is in the house. He has an electronic boundary collar and if I get a couple of messenger notifications when my sound is on, he completely freaks out! Poor puppy!!

Stop trying to be other social media like instagram

Why do I need a separate app for messages? If fb wants offer the option, fine, but why force me. Now I have figure out how to reset my privacy settings and switch back and forth between Facebook and messenger.
