Completely unnecessary app—and mediocre at the ONE thing it ostensibly exists to do. Slowest, most needlessly bloated app imaginable. 147MB … for what?!#?£@?? Nag-ware, always prompting user for access to contacts and other personal information. Complicates the user experience and adds little to previous functionality. Old version of Facebook app on my iPod 4 works and sends messages just fine. Facebook app, Messenger app, Pages app all >100MB each … when is Facebook gonna understand that BLOAT does not “enhance”?

Hey guys all you have to into delete messages is hold the message you want deleted for a couple of seconds and it will flash option that you may do with that message.

The Apple Watch version of the app is a joke. The app never loads which means I cant check nor compose messages on my watch. Please fix the loading issue on Apple Watch and Ill increase my rating!

If a message is sent to you and you acknowledge it but dont delete it then The volume on my phone is reduced. IOS 10.3.3

Never loads who is online anymore and when it does it will show the same exact people and amount of people even if I check it at 8 am, then check again at 2 pm. Same people. Update please ??

Default app setting are incredibly invasive and its not clear to lower skill users exactly how much they are being recorded.

Is getting worse this fb messenger I cant delete the message requests at All is bug, please add more options: to remove a contact from the list!! I dont have fb anymore and I dont want it to delete this messenger and make it another one for this. How can clear the conversation now? I cant hide anymore from available online or not available? No option to sign out what only if you remove the app from home screen:(! Can make it better for safety with Touch Id to sign in Messenger something like when you unlocked the iPhone and have option password too for some devices with no touch id.. Add a support to sign in & use a pin number for safety Something like fb...Thanks

but add more colors for the convos, the colors you have are kinda off putting

Why not redesign this app to be useful and not just all bells and whistles. Adults use it too (its required after all) Have an option to delete older messages and also their attachments. This program eats a lot of memory!!

Why is it mandatory to use a FB app? Particularly when they can be used to spread viruses?

FB messenger has a big button to invite someone to use messenger while I am talking to them through messenger, its very easy to accidentally bump and the invite is gigantic - taking over the screen, its extremely annoying. Also, on the iPad app (I think on the iPhone app too), it takes over at least half the page with suggested contacts, who the hell are these people and why are they being suggested to me? I dont chat with random strangers and I dont want random strangers to be suggested to me. Theres too many unnecessary features, the app is too big, its worthless.

I have had several problems with the app and they havent been fixed. For example, Ive updated the app and everything but I cant send photos from my camera roll. I can only send photos I take through the app...

Is it necessary to have everyone thats added on Facebook to be told youre added on Messenger it just adds more clutter in the inbox. Id also like a place where I can click and delete all messages. Why isnt that a thing yet?

The UI of Messenger is pretty clean and mostly user-friendly. Individual chats are easy to control and is now consistent with notifying me of replies. My only gripes about the app: I cant delete old conversations from the app itself, I cant log out of the app, and the chat color and emoji options are lacking. If my suggestions are considered, my user experience would be elevated.

Starts randomly sending stickers IN THE MIDDLE OF TYPING A MESSAGE! Want to save a photo? If you do, you have to watch the keyboard pop up and down 5 times FOR EVERY PHOTO YOU SAVE!!!!! what used to take 5 seconds now takes a minute per photo because the keyboard has to pop up and go away 100 times before you can even press save!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STICKERS ARE NOW VERY SLOW TO SEND AND VERY DELAYED AFTER TAPPIG THEM! Now photos taken with the camera are VERY DARK even in bright light and so dark the screen is black in camera mode so you cant even see if you getting your picture right!!!!!!! NOW THERES EVEN MORE CRAP BLOCKING ACCESS TO CONVERSATIONS! AND THE SCREENSHOTS OF COURSE ARENT UPDATED TO SHOW THIS CRAP AND ITS NEVER MENTIONED IN THE CHANGE LOG!!!!!!!!! SCREENSHOTS STILL NOT UPDATED TO SHOW HOW HORRIBLE THE LAYOUT IS!!!!!! CLEARLY THEY ARE HIDING IT UNTIL YOU DOWNLOAD IT AND SEE HOW MUCH OF A CONFUSING MESS IT REALLY IS! Anyone notice the screenshots for this app are STILL not updated to show the horrible crap new layout? And the change log is NEVER UPDATED! This should NOT BE ALLOWED BY APPLE! NO MORE EASY QUICK WAY TO SEND PHOTOS WHILE IN A CONVERSATION! now you have to press the camera button on the main screen, then chose who to send the photo to, then go back, then open your conversation to resume talking. NO MORE CAMERA BUTTON WHILE IN CONVERSATION! Adds too many unnecessary steps and interface is very clunky and hard to navigate, and sections you hide will pop back up after 5 minutes, allowing you to have only 2 conversations in the app Version is now all the way up to 98 and STILL CANT TAKE PHOTOS! Still has the same problem when trying to take photos. Pressing the button to take a photo just makes the "TINK!" Sound but never actually focuses or takes a photo. Also you can only see 2 conversations because they still show lots of extra things in the middle of your conversation list and force you to scroll through 2 pages of junk to see your conversations. "Hide" feature for the useless junk sections only stays for 5 minutes before it all reappears again! Update for 10/12/2016 update: CANT TAKE PHOTOS! messenger makes the "tink" sound when pressing the button to take a photo but it never ends up taking the photo or even trying to focus. To send a photo you must use the camera app then go back to messenger find the photo and send it. Also you can no longer scroll up and respond to messages farther up in your chat history. Touching the keyboard causes it to scroll all the way back to the bottom again Anyone else find it quite funny how the screenshots dont show the messed up new layout even after 30 updates? 5 more updates in a week and STILL stuck with the messed up layout that puts conversations at the very bottom of the main screen. ANOTHER update (11 in the past 5 days) and the layout is STILL all cluttered with the stupid new layout and you can only have 3 conversations within the app, if you have more you have to find them on your computer! Conversations are now all scrambled with no logical order. Very hard to find conversations now without the "recent" tab. Also the change log hasnt been updated since version 1.0. Why do you not show your sloppy layout in the app photos? The photos still show the neatly arranged "recents" tab which is replaced by the "home tab" that lists the same person 3 times

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and Im going to have to delete this app because I cant, for the life of me, figure out how to delete messages or leave all the annoying groups people add me to. First of all it should be illegal to add someone to a group without their consent. Second it should be VERY CLEAR how to delete convos and leave groups.

Still dont understand the point of having 2 Facebook apps....other then taking up memory
