My friends name keeps popping up in the "new messages" so wen I open it, it tells me no one send me a message, so when I delete this non new message within 3hr it happens again. Please fix

I Dont Like This New One. I Hate The Fact That Yall Took Away From Us Seeing Whos Our Favorites When You Click On The Messenger App. I Also Dislike The Fact That Yall Took Away From us Seeing Peoples Videos Of Hows Their Day Inside The Messenger Also. Ugh Change Back To Old One. ??‍♀️

I used to enjoy using this app. The time it took to update an app was equivalent to the battery life of an iPhone, very short time. Now the app just sits there saying "waiting". It sure would be nice to use it again but for now Ill give it 2 stars because it doesnt do anything.

Every single time I try to send a pic on the app it crashes and shuts down. There have been 2 updates since this started happening and its not getting any better. Yall need to get it together. I dont EVER write reviews but Im so fed up this time I had to ?

Funny how Facebook keeps trying to hide their bad reviews with "updates" that provide no clue what was actually updated. Just keep giving us unwanted bloatware that should be part of the core app...

I have given as much detail in my review as they have given in their release notes.

Lately messenger has had a decent rating, which caught me by surprise. So I checked the app to see what changed and theres still no information in the patch notes, as with every regular update. Its been 3 years or so and its got all these features but I still cant change the ringtone, something Ive requested for about that time and eventually gave up on. I basically have to use this app, its annoying to have to update it all the time without knowing what that update contains. Facebook just doesnt have to play fair in an app market where every independent developer is always communicating to their user and purchaser. Im pretty much insulted by Facebooks community practices as a user (I am not a developer I just care about this stuff). My usage of Facebook is pretty low to begin with and this is the only aspect of the companys offering that I use. And I dont care for it. A friend just said to me "Facebook is for family not my friends." What does that tell you? Maybe thats why Im seeing this recent stream of inarticulate reviews with 4 stars for the latest version(s) of Messenger?

It never fails me

Please put Messenger the way it was when all you had to do was send or reads message without having to spend an hour in there. I dont care about stuff for sale or a camera or those horrible faces. Please delete lists of names and phone numbers. If I want someone to have my number, Ill give it to them

When sending a person a message. Its taking forever to deliver it. Some times up to 10 minutes

I love messenger. But wish it would let me delete conversations without having to go to my pc.

Facebook this is how you professional drive your users away. Im extremely unsatisfied that I have to go to another app just to read what people are trying to tell me. This makes no sense.

Been having this problem since a few versions now. When my phone is locked, none of the banner notifications come up, or if they do, they do so extremely inconsistently. The ring tone will chime, but if Ive got my phone on vibrate, Ill miss that too. So if the phones on vibrate and I look at my lock screen, theres no notifications. Ive missed several messages because of this. To check I have to unlock and go into the app itself. EXTREMELY inconvenient. I have checked all the notification settings both in the app and on my phone. Everything should be working, but it doesnt. Please fix this bug.

I love messenger. Can "chat" with family and friends all over the world. Love sending pics and photos

"We update the app..." bla bla - why is it so much painkilling time for Facebook to be more precise about what they are updating? I can understand a single person working on an app, but Facebook... come on.
