Ive tried turning off the sounds and notifications. No luck. Its incredibly annoying when you are in a meeting or having a conversation with someone and the Messanger App sounds when you get a message.

This last update freezes my app! I cant open my messages at all.

I dont know why, it just wont load Even when I force close it

This new version is terrible. Way too busy. Might as well put advertising on it too. I may stop using it completely. All k want is my list of people I have talked to so I can find them without going through people Im not friends with that I should add. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good app

Everytime I leave the app and open it back up it logs me out. It isnt notifying me when people message me. It constantly says "active 1min ago" for everyone even though they havent been on for hours or is on currently.

Worried that this app is just another way for facebook to capture more info about us - especially after reading other reviews. I am removing it. Since you cannot use messenger from a browser (like you can Facebook), Im gone

Well, somewhere in the sea of useless updates that Facebook pushes out, Ive stopped getting notifications of my incoming messages. Ive double and triple checked my notification settings. Ive uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. No bueno. Facebook, if youre going to MAKE us have this stupid app, at least make sure it works correctly??

I wonder How people use this app if there is WatsApp.

Let me have the option to disable the additional features that are added but I will never use.

Facebook cannot simply let you message someone, while on Safari. You get redirected to a page telling you to download messenger. What if i dont want it? What if i only need to use it this once? Why? Its a little ridiculous..

There used to be optional s to delete or archive messages. Where has that gone? I cant find previous messages, because of all the clutter of new messages that only tell me this person is now on messenger.... I would like to be able to delete those!

This app has been giving me so much trouble. I dont have service from cell towers out where I live and only have it when I go to town. So I use my wifi for mostly everything. The messenger app worked great on my cellular plan, but on wifi its a hit and miss. Sometimes throughout the day the app just says "connecting" for hours. As if I didnt have an internet connection. But my wifi works with every other app I have on my phone (iPhone SE) also while were talking about wifi, I have decent wifi. 10mpbs down 10 up. I shouldnt be having an issue when I want to make a wifi call to anyone. Especially for it to be dropping my calls all the time.

So, Ive got a problem with Facebook forcing this down my throat. Messenger worked fine on the Facebook app..but when they blocked that I could at least use the website..and now they blocked that route. Theyve become a form of government..."heres a program none of you want! Oh, none of you are using it? Fine! Now you have no choice but to use it!" Along those same lines; every time I open the app or switch back to it Im asked to turn on notifications. I shouldnt have to say no a thousand times. Its infuriating. They simply annoy you until you cave out of frustration and buy into whatever theyre selling. Those two reasons are enough for me to delete the app as soon as I finish the only conversation that was imperative enough for me to download this communist bs in the first place.

Telling me I can send messages to knew friends on Facebook might be the most infuriating thing ever.

Any app that invites others without my permission is a flawed app. There is no way to stop this. On top of this; the button for placing videos is always inadvertently pushed accidentally; better placement is needed. In addition to not providing concise update info in the upgrade notes on the App Store; this suggests we should trust you are actually making this app better.

The amount of steps that had to be taken to set up messenger without notifications is straight up RIDICULOUS. I hate push notifications and messenger is already way too invasive as-is. It literally gave me a notification in-app to turn on notifications. Seriously?!
