***Update, 8/11/17 - I like and rely heavily on this app but am constantly hitting two button that I deem unnecessary and truly annoying - the telephone button and the "invite to Messenger" button. First - I dont know of anyone who uses this in lieu of their phone, I cant believe that this is a common use for the app that the phone needs to always be on screen. Second - I still dont know how I keep inadvertently "inviting" people to use Messenger when Im already in a message conversation with them - that pop up is infuriating. Please disable when users are already in a chat with a particular person.*** First, I see no reason why this is a separate app from the Facebook app - you can access it from Facebook, still see a notification and open a message from Facebook, and Im not noticing any significant improvements over the original. Meanwhile, that stupid black "turn on your notifications" screen that pops up every single time the app is opened, regardless of whether you have on all notifications, none of them, or some, is completely unnecessary and absolutely infuriating. Seriously, Messenger, what the heck?!? We all know about setting notifications and that screen is helpful the first time but at a minimum, there should be a "dont show me this again" button. No pun intended, but we got the message. We either took our advice in some measure or chose not to. Now just stop. Ruins my enjoyment of opening the app to go see a message and getting interrupted by that stupid screen popping up.

when you FaceTime and the call suddenly disconnects you dont even get to see the hours its pathetic all apps do that why cant this pathetic app do it !

it doesnt matter if im connected to wifi or using my data, Messenger always tells me I have no connection. Ive tried rebooting my phone and uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, but its always the same! And itll tell me I have notifications, but whats the point of telling me if I cant clear them? I miss the old days when Messenger was in the Facebook app and you didnt need to have two apps for one website.

2 separate apps and 1 just to chat? What a joke ! Also should have the option to turn off chat completely. I do not need to see a notification in the Facebook app and forced to open the chat app just to hide the notification

Ever since I updated the app for the most recent update (August 10th 2017) my messenger app says it "couldnt load conversation" and its been happening all day. I would like this to be fixed.

TERRIBLE update. They got rid of the little plus sign that had all of the extensions in it. No longer have access to games, polls, or payments in group chats. Not only that, but whenever Facebook updates this app they provide absolutely NO INFORMATION on how to do anything with new updates. Seriously? Fix this.

Why do you do so many updates. Love using the app. All he weekly updates have to stop. No need to update on a weekly basis.

The hackers on messenger are worse than Facebook because hackers have found it much easier to hack accounts. The only protection against hackers are the strongest passwords possible. The users of the Messenger app are responsible for their own security against hackers by keeping their software updates current in the settings app on their Apple and Android mobile devices.

Ive had to delete and re-download this app numerous times, just in the past week. Messages that I send just get sent and not delivered. Is anyone else dealing with this??

Terrible amount of bugs. Routinely neglects to give you notifications of new messages, audio doesnt work frequently and more. It seems theyre more focused on adding new "features" without fixing major issues.

I had to delete the app off my iPhone because the messages wouldnt load at all. (That had been going on for about 4 days now) And now it wont let me reinstall the app anymore. Can someone tell me whats going on with this????

Doesnt work. As soon as I open it the messages are there but I cant select them or scroll. The app is completely locked.

I have used this app for a while now and has no issues until this update. I play some games with my wife and now the wont open. Says "failed to open due to an unexpected issue". Fix please

Way too invasive just like Facebook , plus you keep adding useless crap, why not just make your own brand of phone and the idiots can buy it and freely give up their privacy

I have updated, but it keeps failing to allow me to delete conversations. Want to delete those pesky chain messages that junk up my inbox. iPhone
